My father, Sher Singh Agrawal, left us on February 28, 2011 in Seattle, USA. He passed away from cardiac arrest while enjoying one of his favorite pastimes: walking in the park with my mother.
He was born in New Delhi on July 19th, 1938. He lived in several countries while serving with the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions and later settled in Seattle, Washington to be close to his children.
In a life characterized by quiet activism, his passing occurred hardly a few hours after his last blog post, visible below. We will always remember him for his love of life, his passion for helping everyone around him, and the irreplaceable impact he made on each of our lives. The last rites were performed on March 1, 2011.
Sher Singh is survived by his wife, four children, and eight grandchildren. We all love him dearly and cannot begin to express our heartache. Although we will forever miss his uplifting presence, we know he is in a better place now. Please join us in prayer for his soul.

Dear Auntie Ji and family,

We are so shocked and saddened to hear about uncle's sudden passing away. I spoke with him just a few days ago, and the week before...and it seemed life was as normal as it could be!

Our Guru Ji says our breaths are numbered...and when it is time to go, it is time to go. Voh ab Bhagwan ko pyare ho gaye hain.

We pray his soul may find solace and peace in the lap of God. He lived a good life and had a positive impact on many people he knew, not to mention the many unknown visitors who would have benefitted from his regular beautiful blog sharings. I pray that the family may find comfort in memories of his love and grace.

I disagreed with him on some of the things he said and believed in but did admire him for his outspokenness and dedication to his cause. I shall miss him.

Dear Shri Siddhartha

It was indeed shocking to know about sad demise of your respected father Shri Shersingh ji Agrawal. Though I never met him nor even saw his picture or bio-data, yet his regular e-mails were of use and interest to all in his mailing-list. I will be definitely missing his e-mails of which I was his great admirer. I will be grateful if you please e-mail his bio-data or profile together with his photograph to keep in my Outbox folder specially created for his e-mails.

May god give you and others in your family to bear the great loss of a public-spirited personality. Please also mention about yourself and your native place in India. My profile is enclosed.

I was shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden demise of nanaji. He was a family man and he had concern about weaker members of his family and extended family. Over a period of last ten years, I have had discussions with him on many topics. He was in religious philosophy and would try to understand approaches of Hinduism, Buddhism, Srf, Hare Krishna towards life.

May his soul rest in peace and not be born again.
