WELCOME CHANGE

It refers to welcome decision of Orissa-cabinet to restore original name of state as Odisha, and of state-language to Odia. It is regretted that British legacy of distorted names/spellings of Indian cities and states has not been completed even after six long decades of independence. Signs of slavery should be removed by respelling capital city as Dehli in the manner Bangladesh and China have re-spelt their capitals as Dhaka and Beijing. Even cities like Bareilly, Meerut etc should be re-spelt like has been done in case of Jalandher and Shimla. Even country should be known as Bharat only abolishing British given name of India for which an unanimous resolution passed by UP assembly is already pending.
