Opening/expansion of hospital and college at Khair

You have rightly mentioned many problems which will crop up if we try to do the above subject plans. In this connection, let me tell you a story which really happened. As you may be aware, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviyaji took a bida to make a Hindu University in Kashi, which is known as Banaras Hindu University. He had no money of his own; so he had to go place to place, person to person, nawabs to nawabs to beg for money to make the university.

When he went to see Nizam of Hyderabad, who was the richest nawab, he refused to give him any money as he did not want to give money for a Hindu university. Then while Panditji was in that city, one rich man died and when they were taking out his arthi they threw coins, rupees, silver/golden sikkes,etc. on his arthi as was the custom, Malviyaji went into the crowd and started picking up the money from the road. This was reported to the Nizam and he felt quite ashamed at this and I think he gave some money to Panditji for the university.

Incidentally, in accordance with some books/articles I have read in fact Nizam of Hyderabad was a Hindu born of Hindu parents but he was groomed as a moslem and was appointed (?)as the heir and by his trickery was able to disinherit the real heirs, who died as pauppers. They fought several cases in England and almost won but something or the other happened each time and their case was finally lost. For example, in one of the cases, their appeal went to King George who seemed to be favourably inclined but before the final decision/order was made/came, he died.
