Dear Sher Singh
Many thanks for your email
As far as i have understood, and in accordance with Hindu philosophy, the purpose of life is to develop and transform spiritually by imbibing as many higher virtuous qualities like compassion, love, sacrifice etc in our life time, keeping the name of God in mind and surrendering our own ego at the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord. According to Hindu philosophy, this may indeed take eons of birth cycles, but in the end we may reach the goal and aquire the divinity to merge with Divine, thus getting freedom from the ever recuurring cycle of birth and death.
Obviously there is no scientific and tangible proof of this explanation and philosophy. But this does explain a positive attitude toward life, motivate a person to adopt virtuous life in preferrence to vice, and remain hopeful and optimistic for furure even in worst of circumstances in this life
Although I am author of book on Hinduism, I do not claim to know all; hope this will help you tpo some extent
Best Wishes
Dr Badlani

Namaskar and Jai Hind. I wish to read your book as far as possible as it may give some very interesting and useful information for myself about Hinduism and about the universe and the cosmos.

However, I have a question which has been bothering me for quite sometime and if it is possible to have a reply to it or our views on it:

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF OUR LIFE OR EXISTENCE?
