a man's envy...

A man's own envy is foe enough to forge his ruin,
Even though he has no other enemies.

He who begrudges another's bounty
Will behold the death of his naked and starving kindred.

Fortune's Goddess, intolerant of men who cannot tolerate other's success,
Introduces them to her sister Misfortune and goes away.
