SUPREME COURT VERDICT

SEX BY CONSENT?



It refers to shocking Supreme Court verdict acquitting a teacher held guilty by both the High court and the trial court for having sex with her class-VII student. Apex Court verdict though may be ‘technically’ correct, but will definitely be misused for immoral relations by many teachers misusing their big authority of providing better marks in examinations specially with their girl-students. In larger public interest, the verdict needs to be reviewed by a larger bench of the Supreme Court. Also Supreme Court judgement should be released in media in full detail to clear mind of public about the judgement which has attracted rightful concern of concerned authorities on the subject including even the Chairperson of National Commission for Women, NGOs and principals of schools of eminence. Judiciary should also be practical in approach rather than being just technical. Even in present case, the student concerned was poor in studies having failed thrice in the class thus having crossed 18-years age at class-VII at the time of incident.
