Ayurveda has 75% of its medicinal yogas using 'rasam' i.e. mercuric compounds, called siva viiryam. Ayurveda with its rutu charya and herbal home made remedies can really help the poor to escape the dragon of corporate hospitals. In Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha in Maharashtra, Punjab, one of the reasons for farmers and others to commit suicides, is they get impoverished by paying hospital bills for illnesses of kith and kin or self, find themselves in debt, sell all their possessions and ultimately are left to die by consuming poison. If Ayurveda can get rid of its preoccupation with Siddha Makaradhwajams, Vasanta Kusumakarams, svarna rajata bhasmas, and other expensive remedies, it can become the poor man's science of healing. American Corporate Culture and the Universities are not needed.
